#9 Getting Discovered: Social Media; Your Face Book Page

Before I started to post on my new page on face I did a lot of home work by searching on google and other blogs on what is best, to post on Face Book. Two words kept on appearing and they are, content and engagement. I always thought engagement, is what happened before you got married, and content sound’s a bit like looking into what we used to call a lucky bag, which was usually a very disappointing  plastic car. I understand where they are coming from by saying this because it just so obvious, but when you got the lucky bag the best fun was not what was in the bag but what you did with it, which was to squeeze the opening and push your finger through it, blow it up with your breath and burst it with your hand which gave a frightening bang!!. Now that was fun.

What I’m going to tell you now is my own experience from trial and error. I don’t claim t have all the answers, but what I put into practice is what I’m doing now, writing this blog. What people find interesting is me, I don’t mean this in a conceited way but in general, individuals respond well to your personality which is unique because everyone’s experience in life is different, so when you post on face book speak only about what you know and people will respond your personality.

When I perform live, my audience respond to me because the music moves them in some way emotionally, when I talk to them between the songs the same thing happens, it’s not always smooth but it always fun, even with a difficult audience. It has taken me a long time to work out what’s happening and its this. The audience don’t really remember the content they already know the songs but they do remember how they felt and say things like “it was a great night” etc.,

When I started to post on face book it was always the photo’s of me that got the most attention other content would get 50 to 200 views approximately, when it was me funny bad, or odd the views would rocket up to the 1500 to 2000 mark.

What you are posting is the same as the lucky bag, you are like the bag, they know what you are eg the photo and the post is what’s inside the bag. What takes all the work is keeping all going regularly.

The audience will discover you but you need to use the tools that are available to find them, being the artist has never been easy but if I can make it a success there is absolutely no reason why you can’t do the same thing.

I hope my insights have helped and motivated you to keep going and not give up, if you disagree with me that’s okay to, I’m not offering a free gift, or a magic fairy dust, all I can do is speak from my own experience.

Thank you for reading this blog
