#9 Short Film on a Shoe String: The Flying Camera

If you are a regular reader of my blog, you will know that I’m no technician, I leave all that stuff to my, more than capable team. However, I splashed out and bought a drone from Amazon…Why? I hear you ask, because I live in one of the most scenic city’s in Scotland, if not the whole of the UK.

The flying camera (drone) will video Kinoull Hill, and down to the river Tay then finally stop at the  school entrance, as we see the actors exit onto the tarmac.

For the opening scene of “The Mystery Girl”, I’ve written a new song; “School Day” all of my young cast of characters, have been trained in musical theatre, so they can act dance and sing. I must point out, that this was not a pre-requisite for the auditions, but it was, a very happy surprise. So why not use all this talent to it’s full potential, and the song “School Day” will open the movie. The song “Mystery Girl” sung by Danny the protagonist is near the end of the movie.

I think two songs is enough for a short film, and I was asked if it was a musical, I never really thought about that, but my guess is that it is a musical, I had just thought of it as a short film with songs. I feel like I’m learning something new everyday with this project, and I’m so pleased to have such a talented group of actors.

This bit is for those who like all the technical details; Holy Stone HS700 FPV Drone with 1080p HD Camera Live Video and GPS Return Home, RC Quadcopter for Adults Beginners with Brushless Motor, Follow Me, 5G WiFi..
